Argali Project Development

At the core of our platform is the development of Carbon Offset Projects

We have assembled a team of leading climate change experts and professionals with 15+ years of Carbon Credit Offset development.

Argali will focus on investing in developing both small and large scale carbon offset projects that will have significant social, environmental and economic impact.

Argali will take a leadership role in developing its own large scale carbon offset projects and also providing project oversight & development resources to partners seeking support with their own offset projects

Our team will manage the full process of getting projects approved and registered with one of the internationally recognized standards organizations.

Our initial focus will be projects that help preserve forests and woodlands through reforestation and afforestation.

Nature Based Project: Reforestation

Argali carbon Corporation

Argali’s first development project is based in East Africa and is a 4 year reforestation program that will see over 250 million trees planted

The program is being led in partnership with major charitable organizations and a local environmental energy production company.

Background:

As a consequence of civil war and unrest, a significant influx of refugees has occurred, leading to the widespread cutting down of millions of trees. This has sparked civil unrest among local citizens affected by migration, exacerbating the climate change impact of deforestation.

The refugees have been utilizing the trees to build homes, create fuel and to make charcoal. It is estimated that the average refugee is cutting down 20 trees per year. There has been an influx over 1.2M refugees in two key regions of the country.

Argali has been asked to lead the carbon offset development program for this unique project and to create business opportunities to help mitigate this deforestation practice.

The impact of this reforestation project on carbon dioxide is significant:

Planting 250 million trees will result in the absorption of approximately 6,000,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually, equivalent to removing 1,500,000 cars from the road.

Argali is actively establishing and investing capital in multiple businesses that will serve to benefit from these reforestation efforts. Our objective is twofold: to create job opportunities and generate income for refugees. The overarching goal is to develop a sustainable model that transforms refugees into stewards of the environment, protecting valuable trees by deriving benefits from businesses utilizing their byproducts.

Argali will also look to identify impactful Blue Carbon projects

Argali will look to develop projects to restore seagrass beds, mangrove forests, and coastal wetlands

Oceanic and coastal ecosystems, namely algae, saltmarshes, seagrasses and mangroves, are an important recognized sink of carbon as they provide an ecosystem service which helps to mitigate CO2 release into the atmosphere.

Blue Carbon projects such as a Mangrove Reforestation is a great example of the potential of a blue carbon project.

Mangrove forests store up to 10 times more carbon per hectare than terrestrial forests.*

Argali is keen to developing blue carbon projects not only realizing the CO2 sequestration benefits, but also believes these carbon credits will be valued at a premium due to the enormous secondary benefits, such as the positive effects on corals, algae, and marine biodiversity.
